Just wanted to let everyone know of the recent changes, and upcoming changes.
Article Tags
First off I will start with the article tags feature, which shortly will mean that you don’t need to enter keywords for your articles any more, as we have built a system that automatically picks the most relevant keywords from your article, and will post them as tags, which will
1. help visitors find your articles
2. increase the keyword density of those keywords, to make the pages even more SEO optimized.
Revenue Sharing
ZapContent over the next few weeks will be gearing up to start revenue sharing with our authors. We believe that without your articles, well simply put we wouldn’t be here, so its time to reward you for your efforts.
Initially it will work like this:
Revenue Sharing Rules
[Article Counts]
1-10 30%
11-25 40%
25+ 50%
[Author Referral]
20% of their percentage on their articles
Example: you refer an author who has posted 9 articles, that means that when readers are viewing his/her articles your ad will be shown 6% of the time
[Own Page Reader Referral](Counted from previous month on all referrals)
Total Percentage Increases
1-100 2%
101-500 5%
501-1000 10%
1000+ 15%
Example: You have posted 15 articles so your base percentage on your articles is 40% of the time, but you also referred 600 readers the previous month, so your total percentage will be 50%. Meaning that now your ad will be shown on your articles 50% of the time.
[Other Page Reader Referrals](Counted from previous month on all referrals)
1-100 9%
101-500 12%
501-1000 15%
1000+ 18%
Example: The previous month you referred 600 people, so on every page that someone that you referred visits that is not one of your pages, your ad will be shown 15% of the time.
The details are likely to change a little, and if you have any questions or suggestions feel free to post a comment here or send us an email thru the contact page.
Thats all for now, but keep your eyes open and check back often.

As an article author you know that you can have a great product,
a perfect sales letter and award-winning site design and still
not make a dime as an Internet marketer.
You still need that one
last missing ingredient…
Traffic!!!
It’s not tough to understand. If you don’t get visitors, you
don’t get sales. That’s why traffic is the HOLY GRAIL of
Internet marketing. Without traffic, nothing else matters.
You can scour the web and come up with 1,001 different guides
promising to provide you traffic generation insight. Some of
them do little more than echo well-known truisms like *good
content increases traffic*. Others will promise to give you a
*secret* based on a temporary black hatter’s loophole.
You can buy, read, research, experiment and read some more for
weeks on end and you’ll still have a big stack of material in
front of you. You’ll emerge confused, frustrated by all of the
garbage you encountered masquerading as *insider information*
and your sites’ stats still won’t look any better.
We decided to do something about that. What Internet marketers
really need is a one-stop means by which they can get the truth
about generating massive traffic flows. They need ALL of the
serious information and proven strategies.
So, we decided to get in touch with the best in the business.
We called on a Traffic King!!!
Someone We’ve worked with before and who We know to be a
legitimate expert on how to drive traffic like nobody’s
business.
He wasn’t cheap, but he agreed to document ALL of the
critical traffic information and to create an awesome series of
video tutorials covering legitimate traffic generation from
A-to-Z.
He went to work and emerged with fourteen stellar videos that
will give you all of the ins and outs of traffic generation.
They are nothing short of amazing.
These videos cover the following in extensive detail:
* Keyword Research
* Ebay as a Traffic Source
* Article Directories
* Link Directories
* SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
* Forum Marketing
* Blog marketing
* PodCasting
* RSS Syndication
* Stumble Upon
* Squidoo
* Creating Videos for free to use to get traffic
* Social Networking as a Traffic source
* The Secret Site *(Worth the price of the videos alone)*
There was one little problem, though…
My traffic guru is a master of getting visitors to websites BUT …also a dog lover.
His pet mutt, Roger, was right by his side during the creation of these videos.
Some little puppies like to chase traffic in the street. Roger likes to help his master drive traffic. In fact, he gets
downright excited when his master shares solid advice and guidance that reveals the truth about getting those fat stats.
In other words, Roger provided an unintended soundtrack for this video series. That’s why we call them The Barking Videos. You
can occasionally hear man’s best friend in the background! In this case, fortunately, the *bite* of the awesome material is
much stronger than Roger’s bark. This video series is an unparalleled one-stop source of traffic information and
guidance. We’re talking about expert advice covering all of the different ways you can deliver visitors to your pages.
Now you decide, do you want to keep chasing traffic that is always too fast to catch, or do you want to learn to make the
traffic come to you like a Big Dog?
Check it out here :

P.S You can easily make your money back in less than five
minutes, since it has a 100% commission for affiliates or you
can use the Master Resell Rights on your own, either way you can
make a huge amount of money, by using the very methods these
videos teach!!!

Mike Miller

We just completed a homepage upgrade that allows you to click on a main category, and it will display the subcategories. We initially didnt plan on showing the subcategories on the homepage due t the space they take up, however due to many requests to make the homepage show the subcategories without loading another page to get to them we changed our mind and they are now there. You can also click on the “Show All” to show all the categories we have , and “Hide All” to hide them.

We have added yet another new feature that we believe will be helpful to many of our users. You can now double click on any word in an article that you don’t know the meaning of, and if it is in the dictionary we will give you the definition. At this point it is in beta so sometimes it comes up with only the word and no definition, but in testing 99% of the time if the word is in the dictionary it will give the definition. Right now the definition is given by means of a popup, however we are working on making it show up in page next to your mouse to keep it easy;)

We have been working for a little while on a feature we call “Send Me Articles”. From now on when your view the list of articles in a category, you can check the check box next to the title, and then scroll to the bottom and enter your email address and the format you would like the articles to be sent in, and they will be emailed to you as attachements.

As many of you have noticed
ZapContent is sporting a brand new look. We decided it was time for something a little different, and something more suited to a directory of our size. All the basic parts of the site are still there, they just look a little different.

I’ve been asked, many a times, by people whether it’s possible to start and build a successful business online.
My answer is a definite YES, however, I’ll like to preempt you that it won’t happen overnight as success in your internet business is a journey, not an isolated event.
It takes passion, a willingness to learn, apply and test what you’ve learnt (from credible sources as a matter of course), commitment, hardwork, time, money, and last but not least, persistence and determination in order to succeed — but it can be done…
Here are my golden rules to starting and building a successful and sustainable internet business:
1. Develop a viable business plan
2. Model someone successful
3. Focus on a niche market
4. Differentiate your business
5. Spent your funds wisely
6. Superior customer service
